What is a Tiny House? Could you live in one? Want to try your hand at building one?  Don't miss the Tiny House Kick-Off Party set for Thursday, December 18th at 6:30 p.m.! 

Wikipedia notes the average size of American houses grew by 40% in the last 40 years, even though families are getting smaller.  With more people concerned about urban sprawl and seeking a simpler lifestyle, a national tiny house movement is gaining momentum, including in Des Moines.

Now, Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity's Re-Store is forming a tiny house team to showcase simple living for the Des Moines Home and Garden Show this spring. The team plans to build the house with salvage materials from the ReStore. Gather your friends and join the team at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore to kick off this sustainability project.
