Michael Armstrong will be speaking on behalf of the @dsmstreetcollective's Zero Vision Initiative. No one should lose a loved one on our roads, yet in 2021 there were 43,000 traffic fatalities in the US. Vision Zero is a model for dramatically decreasing traffic deaths through design solutions. With #DSM considering a Vision Zero policy this year, he'll walk through the story of how #VisionZero redefines what is possible for Des Moines.

Alec Davis will be presenting about @momentum_dsm, which was founded in 2023 as Des Moines' first urbanist PAC. The group advocates to make Des Moines a more accessible, livable, and #sustainable city for all. To achieve these goals they seek to help elect local leaders who will demand safer streets for all #transportation modes, better land use that promotes abundant housing of all types, and robust public transportation.
