This spring, the City of Des Moines launched a Gold Level Recycling Program, which got us wondering... how many of us would qualify for the program? Test your knowledge and expand your current understanding of what can and cannot be recycled in Des Moines at our next Meet-Up! 

We have invited Jenni Koska, the Education and Outreach Coordinator from Metro Waste Authority, to share about the economics of recycling. She will have an activity to help us better understand the financial reasons to recycle.

We've also invited Ciji Mitrisin, Chief Recycling Office of RecycleMe Iowa and Treasurer of Urban Ambassadors, to speak about recycling in Des Moines. Her recent blog post on Bottle Politics may incite some great discussion among Urban Ambassadors. 

In addition to learning more about recycling in Des Moines, we also want to get active and have a positive impact in the community. We will spend some of our time doing a community clean-up to pick up trash and recyclables on Keo Way, just down the hill from Good Park. We will provide the trash and recycle bags as well as pickers.

**We will meet at Good Park at the gazebo with picnic tables. There is a splash pad right next to the gazebo if you'd like to bring along your sprouts! After our speakers, we'll head down the hill towards Keo and help keep DM clean.
